My abstract paintings employ contrast to reveal the dualities I find in life: chaos and order, light and shade, organic and geometric, female and male. They are completely process-based and my materials alternate between acrylic, oil, canvas, wood, and paper. They are a build up of multiple translucent layers striving for spontaneity and freedom through variation of calligraphic gesture.

My new obsession with street art has challenged me to combine my process of fine art with photography. Street art is an impermanent art movement and documenting it in essence is documenting a moment in art history. The gestures of graffiti reflect the concepts of my paintings, and I create compositions that allow the energy of the markings to create movement and exude vibrancy.
